Innovators Honored at Awards Ceremony
|Department of Entrerpreneurship of the City of Rijeka honored the winners and candidates of this year’s contest for innovators at the awards ceremony that took place on Tuesday, June 13, 2006. The INOVA 2006 Show was promoted at the ceremony.
Since new and innovative solutions promote enterpreneurship, Department of Entrepreneurship has been supporting innovators for several years now and since 1997 has been awarding prizes to innovations with the highest potential for commercial applications.
At the ceremony, Mr. Andrija Vitezić, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, gave each inventor a plaque recognizing their achievements in various fields of entrepreneurship. At the end of his speech, he invited all innovators to present their innovations at the INOVA 2006 Show that will take place in Rijeka, November 15-18.

INOVA 2006 promoted at the world’s largest invention show in Pittsburgh
|This year’s INPEX show was the best thus far organized with respect to the number of exhibits (1800) and the quality of the products displayed. In addition to a large number of valuable American innovations, INPEX gathered innovators from 20 countries from all over the world (United Kingdom, German, Russian Federation, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Rumania, Australia, South Africa, Nigeria, Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Malesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Canada).
The Croatian delegation presented its forthcoming 31st Croatian Innovation Show INOVA at INPEX to take place in November in the city of Rijeka.
In addition to numerous American businessmen and representatives of the media, officials from the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, Mr. Bernard Luketić and Mr. Edvard Pezo, as well as many Americans of Croatian origin visited the Croatian exhibition booth.
Croatian innovators’ presence at the 22nd INPEX Show was made possible by the Croatian Inventors Association, the Zagreb Association of Inventors, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Inventors Association with significant assistance and support given by the City of Zagreb’s administration and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

Presentation of INOVA in Vukovar-Srijem County
|In addition to the successful international presentation of the 31st Croatian Invention Show, the organizers of INOVA 2006 presented this years exhibition concept and the accompanying events in all Croatian County capitals. The well-prepared presentation reaffirmed the good cooperation between Rijeka and Ilok innovators, who are becoming more and more active and better organized.
The mayor of the city of Ilok, Mr. Mladen Papak, was present and promised further support to all innovators.
After plans regarding the participation at the exhibition in Rijeka were made, the Invention Association from Rijeka offered help to the Vukovar-Srijem County’s Invention Association.

Tenth National Conference on Economy and Entrepreneurship ends
|The conference pooled some 600 participants and addressed the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises, new employment measures, ICT's role in economic development, innovation on the road to competitiveness, and the importance of design in entrepreneurship.
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Inventors Association presented INOVA 2006 hosted and sponsored by the administration of the City of Rijeka.

Reception for young Rijeka innovators
|On May 25, 2006 the Mayor of the City of Rijeka, Mr. Vojko Obersnel, and his associates met with young Rijeka innovators who participated at the “Mala inova” exhibition in Zagreb. Rijeka participated with 12 exhibitions and seven young innovators accompanied by their mentors, Mr. Boris Caputa and Mrs. Ružica Zrinski, presented their innovations at the exhibition.
The reception was the occasion to promote the 31st Croatian Invention Show – INOVA 2006, which for more than 30 years has been the gathering point of Croatian innovators and is sort of a trademark for inventiveness. This international exhibition will be held November 15-18 in Rijeka.
This is the third year the Nikola Tesla Award will be bestowed on this year’s best Croatian innovator. INOVA will be held in conjunction with the Technical Culture Days manifestation at the Hrvatski kulturni dom with the participation of innovators from fifteen Counties and guests from abroad.
The administration of the City of Rijeka will sponsor and host this manifestation.

Inaugural conference of the INOVA 2006 Implementary Committee
|The inaugural conference of the INOVA 2006 Implementary Committee – 31st Croatian Invention Show was held on April 19, 2006.
After the introductory words, the Committe was constituted and will continue working with the elected members whose number can be increased.
The concept of the INOVA 2006 exhibition was presented and acclaimed by all.
Present activities and future activity plan were accepted.
An agreement was reached on the selection of promotional material. A tour of the exhibition area at the HKD was organized.
